NAC

NAC

NAC is a form of the amino acid cysteine that boosts glutathione, the body’s master antioxidant. In fertility, NAC supports ovulation, improves insulin sensitivity, and protects eggs and sperm from oxidative stress.

Does it really work?

Yes, especially in women with PCOS. Clinical studies show NAC can improve ovulation rates, regulate cycles, and increase pregnancy rates in PCOS-related infertility. In men, NAC has been shown to improve sperm motility and DNA integrity.

Can I get enough in real food?

Not directly. While cysteine is present in protein-rich foods, NAC itself is not found in the diet. Effective levels for fertility support come from supplementation.

Do I need a supplement for everyday health?

Not for everyone. But for women with PCOS or insulin resistance — or men with sperm quality issues — NAC can significantly improve fertility outcomes.
